Common tree jobs at home
- Branches over the roof, gutters, patio or pool, cut back
- Trees too close to the house, fence, driveway or pipes, taken out
- Dead limbs and branches that keep dropping, removed before they fall
- Trees shading solar panels or blocking the view, trimmed back
- Overhanging branches from next door, cut back to the boundary
- Storm damage cleared and chipped
See pruning and lopping, tree removal and storm clean up for more on each.
Getting in and out of a suburban block
On most suburban blocks the chipper stays on the street or the driveway, and branches are carried out to it through the side gate. Let us know how wide the gate is, and whether there’s anything fragile along the way: garden beds, paving, a pool fence. We’ll talk through the route when we quote.
On hills blocks, it’s slopes and long driveways instead. A photo of the way in helps us quote it right.
What happens to the mess
Branches are chipped on site, so there are no trailer loads to the tip and no pile waiting for the verge collection. Keep the mulch for your garden beds, or we take it away. Big trunk sections can be left as firewood rounds.
Neighbours, verges and approvals
- Branches from next door: in WA you can generally cut back to the boundary, as long as the tree isn’t harmed. Talk to your neighbour first.
- Verge trees belong to the council. Report problems to them rather than cutting them yourself.
- Heritage-listed properties and trees protected by planning approvals can need council approval before removal. See tree removal for more.
What affects the price
